Ardeche 2015 – Parent Info Pack
Here are our hard-working volunteers taking a short photo break during the Edinburgh Marathon. A squad of Scouts, mums, leaders, young leaders and friends accepted the challenge to unload and distribute two articulated lorries full of runners’ bags. It was a tough but enjoyable day. Well done to our race crew team.
The forecast promised an interesting weekend under canvas and so it proved to be with more than our fair share of rain and wind. Despite the elements doing their best to dampen spirits, the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts rallied at the Saturday evening camp-fire with our usual range of songs and marshmallow treats. The Scouts were able to practice kayaking, ahead of our summer camp to France.
£701.95 and some belly-button fluff raised at the bag-pack yesterday, great work Broughton Scouts.
Well done to the ten Cubs who survived this weekends camp at Bonaly. It was a joint camp with the 1st and 3rd ENE allowing some Cubs and leaders to experience a nights away experience for the first time. There were 35 Cubs in total who can be very proud of their conduct during the weekend. Walls were climbed, arrows were loosed, songs were sung and hills were hiked. Despite the fascinating dead sheep, bitter cold and 148 Brass Monkey Scouts a great time was had by all. Roll on Group camp in May……

…..2015 is off to a flyer with Millie gaining her Chief Scout Gold Award, hot on the heals of the six gained by her fellow Scouts in November. Great work Millie.
….Rory, Ethan, Connor and Sam were invested last week and joined the Broughton St.Mary’s Scouts on our adventure. Please make them welcome and feel part of our team.
Here is a handy reference booklet for Parents and Scouts. Parents of cubs and beavers might find the info useful too, but there are lots of differences between the sections (Scouts, Cubs and Beavers) so be careful to check with your own section leaders.
